Ingredients


  • 6 cups cooking apples, peeled, cored and cut into eights (about 5 medium-sized apples)
  • 1 cup (125g) bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup (128g) packed light brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup (190g) plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons light butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup (29g) finely chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup (75g) fat-free vanilla ice-cream
  • Add 1/2 (75g) cup fat-free ice-cream if you’d like!

Method


  1. Coat your slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Put apples in bottom.
  2. Combine bread crumbs, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, sugar, butter, Greek yogurt, and walnuts in a medium-sized bowl. Spread over apples. Cover; cook on LOW 3-4 hours or on HIGH 2 hours.
  3. Serve warm with fat-free ice-cream or fat-free whipped cream
