Ingredients


  • 7 slices white bread
  • 1, 8 oz. (226g) package of 96% fat-free diced ham
  • 1, 8 oz. (226g) package shredded fat-free cheese (cheddar or Swiss)*
  • 1, 16 oz. (453g) container liquid egg substitute
  • 1¾ cup (394ml) skim milk
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper

Method


  1. Tear the bread into pieces and lay in a 9"x13" pan (or a 3-quart casserole).
  2. Spread the diced ham and cheese over the bread.
  3. Beat together the egg substitute, milk and pepper. Pour the mixture over the layers of bread, ham and cheese.
  4. Cover with plastic wrap and press lightly on the bread pieces until the milk comes through to the top of the layers.
  5. Refrigerate overnight.
  6. When ready to bake, remove the plastic wrap and preheat the oven to 350°F (176°C). Bake the casserole for 1 hour.
