Ingredients


  • 1 package of active dry yeast
  • 1 cup (225ml) warm water
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2½ cups (340g) bread flour (Note bread flour makes a crispier crust, all-purpose flour makes a chewy crust)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method


  1. Dissolve yeast and honey in warm water. Let it sit for 10 minutes until it is foamy.
  2. Mix flour and salt in a bowl and gradually add yeast mixture. Form dough into a ball. Kneed for 5 minutes and put the dough into a lightly floured bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and let it sit for an hour or until it doubles in size.
  3. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
  4. Remove dough from the bowl and punch it down. Roll it out into a 12- inch round. Place on a baking stone or sheet and add your preferred toppings. Bake for 10-13 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
