Ingredients


  • 1 lb. (16oz) frozen shrimp, cooked, peeled and deveined
  • 1 large onion, minced
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic or 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 14 oz. (396g) can diced, no-salt-added tomatoes
  • 8 oz. (226g) can no-salt-added tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. ground thyme
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1-3 tbsp. Creole seasoning or more to taste
  • Tabasco to taste (if you want more spice)
  • 2 tsp. sugar (or 1 packet of artificial sweetener)
  • 1 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley

Method


  1. Sauté onions, celery, peppers, and garlic in a large sauté pan prepared with nonstick cooking spray for 4-5 minutes.
  2. Add rest of ingredients except shrimp and simmer to blend flavors.
  3. Add thawed, cooked shrimp and heat thoroughly (although do not overcook shrimp).
  4. Serve over steamed or brown rice.
