Ingredients


  • 1 lb. (16oz) extra-lean ground turkey breast (99% fat-free)
  • 1 slice whole-wheat bread, processed into crumbs
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 cups (150g) portabella mushrooms, ground in a food processor
  • 2 tsp. ground sage
  • 1/2 tsp. ground thyme
  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper (or a little less for milder taste)
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • black pepper, to taste
  • 4 bay leaves

Method


  1. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients (except bay leaves) very well.
  2. Form into 12 patties. “Dry fry” the patties on a nonstick pan prepared with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. Toss in bay leaves for extra flavor.
  4. Turn and cook until done.
