Ingredients


  • 1½ pounds (24oz) “Extra Lean” ground beef (at least 95% fat-free)
  • 1 cup (125g) plain breadcrumbs
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 cup (225ml) fat-free milk
  • 1/4 cup (40g) onions, diced
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2/3 cup (153g) ketchup
  • 1/3 cup (57g) brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons mustard

Method


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (176°C).
  2. In a large bowl mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg whites, milk, onions, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. In separate bowl, mix remaining ingredients to make sauce.
  4. Add beef mixture to a 5 x 9 loaf pan and bake for 40 minutes and then add ½ sauce mixture to top of loaf.
  5. Bake an additional 50 minutes or until internal temperature has reached minimum of 160°F (71°C).
  6. Serve the meatloaf with the remaining sauce on the side.
